IRS Announcement:
Auto-ID Go Live Date Postponed

You likely already received this message from the IRS’s e-Services Program Manager.  But in case you missed it, we wanted to pass along this email.  It appears that the IRS is postponing the Auto-ID requirement which was formerly planned for June 3rd, 2019. According to the email, they have not set a new Go-Live date at this time.

We still recommend that you pursue getting your Auto-ID assigned and sent back to us.
Click Here to review the bulletin we sent you earlier this month about getting your Auto-ID assigned.

Here is the text of the message they sent earlier today.

Good Day,
After receiving a considerable amount of feedback regarding the AUTO-ID Go Live date of June 3, 2019, the agency has agreed to postpone the launch of the “AUTO-ID Mitigation Mode”. We are continuing discussions to determine what the next steps are and, to allow time for those discussions, mitigation mode will be delayed for at least one month. We will update when more information is available.

We apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused and thank you for your support.

Sincerely,
Chad Cohn
