SharperLending Security Enhancements Coming
Second Quarter, 2018
TLS 1.0, Port 80 Access No Longer Supported
Second Quarter, 2018
TLS 1.0, Port 80 Access No Longer Supported
In this day and age, information security requires vigilance, constant monitoring, and continuous adaptation to protect against ever-evolving security threats
To increase protection around our data and systems, we will be enhancing specific security protocols for valued technology vendors that access SharperLending systems and data. We will be updating all platforms to no longer allow vendors to access our systems via Port80. Additionally, the TLS1.0 encryption protocol will no longer be supported. In a nutshell:
Security Changes
- Third party vendors will no longer be allowed to access our systems via Port80
- Additionally, the TLS1.0 encryption protocol will no longer be supported
What Vendors Need to do
- Vendors need to access us via Port 443
- Vendors need to update their encryption protocols to be TLS 1.1 or greater. Note that we will continue to support TLS 1.1 until it is retired, but we recommend all vendors use TLS 1.2 as this is the current TLS encryption standard.
Affected systems include the XpertOnline credit reporting system, the Appraisal Firewall real estate appraisal platform, TVP and TRV Provider tax verification systems, ReadyQual prequalification platform, and the EPN bundled services platform.
If you have clients that utilize a technical integration access any of these systems, please be advised that, mid-second quarter of 2018, we will be requiring that your integration to us be updated to fall within these guidelines.
