Offering customers access to the CreditXpert What-If Simulator™ is a simple client setup process that is done through the XpertOnline Provider (XOP) software. There are a few of prerequisites that need to be met prior to having the information available to perform the setup.

  1. The Provider (CRA) must be a current CreditXpert customer.
  2. The Provider (CRA) must have been contacted by a CreditXpert representative concerning license code activation.
  3. The Provider (CRA) must be using version 1.1.20 of XOP. Check the Help | About XpertOnline Provider menu option in XOP for version information.

The CreditXpert What-If Simulator is a unique product that lets the user simulate the results of a Borrower’s credit-based actions before the Borrower takes them. Doing this tests the impact that certain actions will have on credit scores, and both instills and empowers the Borrower with confidence in the user, and with the information the Borrower needs.

Client Setup for What-If Simulator

Users should begin by logging into XOP. On a successful login, users need to go to the Setup menu option and choose Clients.

Once the ‘zip code updates’ have been loaded, the user will be prompted with an Exact Search box. Here, either type in the client name or client ID#, or leave it blank for a complete list of all clients.

When the list of clients appears, the user should single-click on a client company to highlight the client that wishes to use the What-If Simulator. Then, the user should move to the Detail tab.

On the Detail tab, users should scroll down to the Client Interface section, located at bottom right of this screen.

The Client Interface section is where users will setup the current client company with the What-If Simulator. To do this, users need to make sure that the Enable Client UI v2.0 is checked, and the Enable What-If Simulator checkbox is checked.

  • Enable Client UI v2.0 – this checkbox must be checked to give the customer access to Client side v 2.0, as this is where the What-If Simulator will be available.
  • Enable What-If Simulator – check this checkbox to give this client company access to the CreditXpert What-If Simulator.

Important Note: If one or both of these checkboxes are not checked, the client company using the client side of XpertOnline.net will not have access to the What-If Simulator.

Once these checkboxes are checked, users need to be sure they Save their changes by using the button at top right of this screen.

When the changes are saved, this client company will have access to the CreditXpert What-If Simulator on Client side v2.0 of XpertOnline.

Users will then need to open up individual products in XOP to bill their clients for using the What-If Simulator.

Setting Up What-If Simulator Billing

Once users have enabled their clients to use the What-If Simulator, they need to continue by setting up pricing. Pricing is set on individual products in XOP, on the Product Options screen.

Important Note: Users setting up billing need to make 100% sure that the product they are setting a billing price for is used by the client company that they enabled to use the What-If Simulator.

To begin, from the main screen in XOP, go to the Setup menu option and choose Products.

From here, the Product Lists screen opens, and the user is prompted with a Search screen.

Users can choose to search for the name of the product list they want to modify, or they can leave the Search prompt blank for a list of all product lists.

Once the product lists are available on the Product Lists screen, users need to select the product list that needs to be modified. To see all of the products that are included in a product list, users can click the plus (+) sign to expand the list.

When the individual products are expanded, select the product that needs to have the What-If Simulator pricing input on it.

When the product is selected, the right-hand side of the screen changes to display the Product Detail for the selected product. Users need to find the Options… button located near the bottom of the Product Detail tab and click on it.

Clicking the Options… button opens the Options screen. This screen is used for designating pricing/billing for specific actions that can be performed on the client side of XpertOnline. This is where users need to designate pricing for use of the What-If Simulator.

When this screen opens, users need to scroll down to find the What-If Simulator pricing fields.

When the users sees the CXWIS/CreditXpert What-If Simulator section, they need to input a Price and Tax amount so that, when the What-If Simulator is used, the user is billed the proper amount.

In the above example, when the What-If Simulator is used on the client side of XpertOnline, the user will be charged a total of $2.16.  Users then need to make sure that they Save their changes before closing the Options screen.

When the change is saved, the billing information as been setup.   When the client company then orders a credit report on the client side of XpertOnline with this particular product, and then they use the CreditXpert What-If Simulator, they will be charged $2.16 per bureau per Applicant.

Important Billing Information for What-If Simulator Use

  • If a user pulls a CreditXpert score analysis on a credit report, and then uses the What-If Simulator, they will be charged both for the score analysis and the What-If Simulator (assuming that pricing has been setup for both).

  • Users will incur a charge as set on the Product Options when they first use the What-If Simulator to work with an Applicant-and-Bureau combination. Users can then perform as many simulations on that Applicant-and-Bureau combination as they want for 30 days without incurring another charge. After 30 days, the user will incur another charge.

  • The user will be billed on a per-bureau, per-Applicant basis when working in the What-If Simulator.

Tracking/Managing CreditXpert What-If Simulator – Management Reports

Once users have begun simulating credit-based actions with the What-If Simulator, administrative users in the provider’s office may wish to view how often their clients have been using the CreditXpert What-If Simulator. XOP includes an activity summary in the CreditXpert Activity Management Report that can be used as a good indicator for What-If Simulator use.

To view this report, administrative users can go to the File menu in XOP and select the Management Reports | Other Custom Reports | CreditXpert Activity menu option.

Once the CreditXpert Activity option is selected, the user is prompted with the Management Report Options – CreditXpert Activity screen.  This screen contains criteria that can be set to view specific information, such as date range and sort options.

Once the options are set, users need to click the Run Report button. This opens the CreditXpert Activity Management Report, displaying information based on criteria set on the Options screen.

The actual Management Report screen, shown above, is broken down into activity per client company. The area highlighted in red indicates the Type of activity that is being displayed for that request. If the value in the Type column reads What If, that request was run through the CreditXpert What-If Simulator.

Below the client company activity listing, users will see the totals. The area in red on the page that follows displays the total number of requests for the date set (set previously on the Management Report Options screen) for all client companies listed on the report.

The Total # What-If Requests for Provider ### value indicates the total number of bureau segments that were run through the What-If Simulator for the date range set. This is a good indicator for billing purposes, and overall helps track the activity for the What-If Simulator.

From setup to billing to managing/tracking activity, users should now have all of the information they need to get their clients started using the CreditXpert What-If Simulator.
