Users working in XpertOnline Provider (XOP) have the option of configuring XOP to automatically remove certain inquiry lines from requests. This is done by Subscriber number—when a Subscriber’s number imports as an Inquirer into XOP from the bureau(s), the inquiry that was generated by this Subscriber will be removed from any requests whose product has the Remove My Inquiry service and the configured Inquiry group selected for this service.
This feature works similar to the Conversions feature (Convert Account Names, Convert Narratives, Convert ECOAs, Convert Alerts) in that the corresponding service must be aligned to the product that the request was ordered with in order for the Subscriber’s inquiry to be removed.
This is an optional feature, meant only for those companies that want to have a specific Subscriber’s inquiry removed from requests. Inquiries that are setup to be removed by this method will be removed from the file and cannot be retrieved.
Inquiry Removal Setup
To begin setting this feature up, login to XOP, click the Setup menu, and find the Inquiry Removal menu option.
The Inquiry Removal Setup screen will then open. This is where you can input Subscriber numbers whose inquiries will be removed from the request.
When the Inquiry Removal Setup page opens, you need to create a new group that will contain individual Subscriber codes whose inquiries will be removed upon import of the data. You will be in the Groups tab by default—to create a new group, click the New button.
When you click the New button, a new entry highlighted in blue will appear with an asterisk to the left of it—click in the Description column to give this Inquiry Removal group a name. In the screen capture above, the name of the Inquiry Removal group is “Standard List.” When you have a new group created and named, click the Save button. When the save completes, you will have created a new Inquiry Removal group that will contain individual Subscriber codes whose inquiries will be removed upon import of the bureau data.
Your next step is to switch to the Codes tab to add in the Subscriber numbers of those grantors whose inquiries you wish to remove from this request. When you are viewing the Codes tab, click the New button to begin.
When you click the New button, a new entry highlighted in blue will appear with an asterisk to the left of it. You need to type in the Subscriber ID number of the inquirer you wish to have removed into the highlighted row in the Subscriber ID column. Repeat this process for as many Subscriber IDs whose inquiries you wish to remove from a request.
When you are finished adding Subscriber IDs to this group, click the Save button to save all of your changes and additions. When the save is complete, you will have created an Inquiry Removal group containing individual Subscriber ID numbers whose inquiries will be removed from the request.
Inquiries are removed from a request at the time a request is ordered: when a product is chosen that contains the Remove My Inquiry service, all inquiries whose Subscriber IDs are setup within the Inquiry Removal group that has been aligned to the Remove My Inquiry service will be removed from the request when it is imported from the bureau(s).
Your next steps will be to make sure that the newly-created Inquiry Removal group is available to be aligned to the Remove My Inquiry service, and to add the Remove My Inquiry service to a product.
Aligning Inquiry Removal Groups to a Product
Before you add the Remove My Inquiry service to the product, you must make sure that your Inquiry Removal group is available to be added to the service.
To do this, click the Setup menu and choose the Refresh Setup Information menu option.
Continue by clicking the OK button. Now, move on to adding the Remove My Inquiry service to a product.
To begin, go to the Setup menu and choose the Product Lists menu option.
When the Product Lists page opens, you will get an Exact Search prompt. Either enter in the exact name of a product list, or leave this field blank to view all product lists. Then, find the product list and the product within the product list that you would like to add the Remove My Inquiry service to.
Once you have found the product, click on the Product Detail… button, as shown above.
This opens the Product Detail page that compiles the make-up of this product. Click on the Services entry on the left-hand side of this screen to view the listing of Additional Services, located at the bottom middle of this screen.
The Additional Services here are ordered alphabetically. Scroll down to find the Remove My Inquiry service. This service is outlined in red in the above graphic.
To enable this service on this product, double click on the Remove My Inquiry service. The page shown below will open.
At the center of this screen, you will see a Remove My Inquiry Group field and drop down list. Click the drop down arrow to select the group that you recently created. In this example, the user selects the “Standard List” Inquiry Removal group to add to this service that will in turn be enabled for this product. Also, be sure that the Selected field reads Selected to ensure that indeed this service is turned on for this product.
Once you have made sure that this service is Selected, and that you have chosen the correct Remove My Inquiry Group, click the Save button to save all of your changes and additions. When the save is complete, you will have aligned a Remove My Inquiry Group to the Remove My Inquiry service and enabled the Remove My Inquiry service on the selected product. Now, when a Subscriber/Client orders a request with this product selected, the Subscriber IDs that match in your Remove My Inquiry Group will be removed from this request when it is imported into XpertOnline Provider.
Keep in mind that there is no limit to the number of Inquiry Removal groups that you can have in XOP; there is also no limit to the number of Subscriber IDs you can have within an Inquiry Removal group.
