Fannie Mae released some exciting news to the lending industry last week. SharperLending's appraisal platform, Appraisal Firewall, is ahead of the game and will be ready when these updates go into effect April 15th, 2023.

First, Appraisal Firewall will be ready for next month's selling guide and new product acceptance update. Your clients will be able to connect with vetted and trained Property Data Collectors to deliver the Value Acceptance + Property Data and Hybrid Appraisal solutions.

  • Value Acceptance - this is the new name for the appraisal waiver many of your clients have seen over the last few years. When your clients receive this in DU, they can proceed without an appraisal.


  • Value Acceptance + Property Data - this new product will allow for an appraisal waiver as long as property data (gathered by a vetted and trained Property Data Collector) and a floor plan is delivered to DU. Appraisal Firewall will deliver this product to your clients.


  • Hybrid Appraisals - this product requires a vetted and trained Property Data Collector to gather data, then includes a floor plan and delivers these two pieces to an appraiser for a Desktop Appraisal. Appraisal Firewall will then deliver this product to your clients.
