Introduction
Interested in trying out the new Encompass® Partner Connect (EPC) interface side-by-side with your existing Encompass interface? Now you can with SharperLending and your Credit Reporting Agency, without impacting your current Encompass credit interface.
Encompass users can continue to use their current interface and have access to the new EPC interface as an additional option in the Credit Provider list. This convenient option permits one or two Admin-type users that want to try out the EPC interface, while everyone else continues to use the existing Encompass interface.
NOTE: The only prerequisite is that you must be using the SmartClient application that is installed on your desktop. Users of the Encompass web-interface will not have this option to run both interfaces simultaneously.
The new Encompass EPC interface has a handful of enhancements that lenders can benefit from today.
New options in Request Type drop down list.
Prequal and Pre-Approval identifiers.
More accurate naming of completed credit product.
Build familiarity with this new interface, which will be required by Encompass, starting October 2025.
How It Works
Encompass has recently added a new entry in their Order Credit Report list called ‘SharperLending – EPC.’ This new entry is available in the All Providers list. You can add the ‘SharperLending-EPC’ entry to your list of credit providers to load the new interface, enter your XpertOnline login credentials like you do today, and place orders.
Since the ‘SharperLending – EPC’ entry directs to XpertOnline Production, you can test out one or two orders for live borrowers, or you can use approved test files – either option will work.
Adding this option to your My Providers list allows you to have both options side-by-side to not disrupt your current workflow.
Accessing the EPC Interface
When you select the SharperLending-EPC interface option, you will encounter a Loading screen. Please note: the screen can take upwards of a minute-plus to fully load. Once the page has fully loaded, the new EPC Order Credit screen looks like the following:
Click the Login Information link at top-right to enter their XpertOnline login credentials.
Users will be directed to the Login Information screen. Supply your XpertOnline credentials. We recommend enabling the Save Password checkbox,ox so your credentials are stored upon each launch.
Click Save to return to the Order Credit screen.
To test your login credentials, click the Refresh icon next to the Product drop-down to access the SharperLending credit system, and load your product list.
When successful credentials are entered, the Product list drop-down will populate with a list of credit products that are available to order.
Click the Product field to view the entire selection of credit products available. Choose the desired product to order.
Once your login credentials are validated and the product list displays, select the Request Type. Available options are:
New Request – choose this to order a New Credit Report and select the Product you want to order. Click Submit to place the order.
Retrieve an existing credit report – choose this if you know the credit report Reference Number in the credit system and want to import it (along with assets and liabilities). Enter in the corresponding Reference Number and click Submit.
Upgrade – choose this option if you want to order a different product on the same credit report. (Only available after the first credit report has been placed.) This option will reuse existing bureau data if possible and order new bureau data that does not exist on the report currently. Click Submit to place the order.
Example 1: choose Upgrade if you have ordered a single bureau product and want to upgrade to a Tri-Merge. This option merges the new data with pre-existing data if the criteria is met.
Example 2: use Upgrade if you want to go from a soft-pull to a hard-pull, which will generate all new credit data for the hard pull report.
Toggle between the Order Information tab and the Order Status tab. Additionally, users can view the credit report and product ordered from the eFolder. Any subsequent orders placed can be found in eFolder.
To view Scores, click on the Forms tab (located at the bottom left). Find and select the Fact Act Disclosure entry. Note that you may need to check the Show in Alpha Order and the Show All boxes at bottom to view this data.
To view Liabilities, click on the Forms tab (located at the bottom left). Find and select the VOL entry. Note that you may need to check the Show in Alpha Order and the Show All boxes at bottom to view this data.
