XpertOnline Ready to Support FICO 10T, VantageScore 4.0 Products

Today, Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Secretary Pulte made a surprise announcement on X (formerly Twitter) that the GSEs will now allow lenders to submit loans using VantageScore 4.0. FHFA guidance at this time is highly limited. This is a major milestone for our industry — and while the announcement is still being digested, there is no guidance from Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac at this time, however we expect this to be forthcoming very soon.

We wanted to reach out directly to share what we know and how SharperLending Solutions is prepared to support you. At SharperLending, we’ve been anticipating this shift and are pleased to confirm that XpertOnline is fully enabled to support VantageScore 4.0 (and the other alternate score model, FICO 10T).

That said, there are still several key considerations and steps ahead:
  • By default, XpertOnline suppresses VantageScore 4.0 and FICO 10T in the raw data because most LOS’s are not able to handle them at this time. You can enable the Include 10T/VS4 in Decisioning additional service to include these scores in your raw data.
  • Please Note: at this time, some LOSs do not accept either alternate credit score model.  While you may have lenders that want this model today, please ensure that your client confirms with their LOS that the LOS can accept VantageScore 4.0.
  • Additional testing with the GSEs and LOS providers will be necessary for us to ensure Vantage 4.0 integrates seamlessly into workflows.
  • We are also evaluating how this shift affects your use of credit score optimization tools.
  • As needed, you can proceed in procuring your new codes from the credit bureaus to fully enable VantageScore 4.0.
We will continue to monitor official resources — including the FHFA’s Credit Score Policy and transition guidance from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac — and will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

In the meantime, we remain fully committed to supporting all approved scoring models. We are here to help you navigate this transition and how it fits your business needs, while continuing to provide guidance as we learn more.
