The Deceased Indicator service allows Providers to set up and receive notifications when a file encounters a 'deceased' flag on an applicant. When an alert is triggered, the Provider may check and verify if the notification was warranted in order to process the file to completion. This guide explains how the Deceased Indicator workflow functions.

Enable the Deceased Indicator Service
From Provider Settings, select the Provider Setup tab.
Choose the Provider Setup tab.
The Deceased Indicator Service is located under the Default User and Lookback Days fields. To turn on the service, enable the box adjacent to Enable Deceased Indicator Service and Notifications. NOTE: Once this setting is enabled, the service will run for all clients under the Provider, by default.
For users to be notified of Deceased Indicator alerts, enter any/all email addresses that should receive notifications. NOTE: for multiple email addresses, separate via comma (,).
To complete the setup, select the SAVE button. The CANCEL button will return the user to the previous page view.
Receiving a Deceased Indicator Notification
When the Deceased Indicator is triggered on a file, those individuals set up to receive the notifications will receive an email alerting them that a file has encountered a potential deceased applicant. Below is an example of what users may receive. Please note the updated verbiage at the bottom of the email notification.
Processing a Deceased Indicator File
Once it has been determined the applicant is or is not deceased, access the file in XOLX, and select the Supplements tab. Any automated services that are configured to run on the ordered product will be listed here.
Under the Description column, note the Check Deceased line item.
Expand the arrow to the right to review the contents.
Use the Status dropdown menu to make the appropriate selection.
Choosing Done will prompt an overlay to Confirm the action and ensure the report is delivered to the client. Select Yes to confirm the activity or No to return to the previous screen.
Complete the Billing Description overlay as needed.
