Encompass® by ICE Mortgage Technology® Inc. currently offers clients the ability to run side-by-side with their legacy software SmartClient and the new Encompass® Partner Connect (EPC) platform. NOTE: clients must use the desktop SmartClient application to utilize this side-by-side comparison. Users accessing the web-based version of EPC will not have the ability to work in both the legacy and modernized Encompass interfaces. 


EPC offers numerous features that lenders can utilize now:

  • More options in the Request Type dropdown list.
  • Pre-Qual and Pre-Approval identifiers
  • Refined naming of completed credit products
  • Mandatory transition to EPC will occur the end of 2026.

Add SharperLending - EPC to the My Providers List

From SmartClient (desktop version), select the Services tab and choose Order Credit Report. Access the All Providers tab from the Credit Report Service option. Choose SharperLending-EPC and select Add to My List. This will add SharperLending-EPC to the clients' My Providers list, ensuring the provider is easily accessible prior to order placement. Note: SharperLending-EPC will be pointed to the new EPC version of order placement. Legacy providers will not have the appended -EPC to the Provider name


Once SharperLending - EPC has been added, select Submit. This will point to XpertOnline's production side. 


Launch SharperLending - EPC for Order Placement

Upon launching SharperLending - EPC, an updated version of the loading screen will occur. 


Once the framed-in version of EPC loads, the New Order screen will look similar to the below example.

Verify Login Credentials

Select the Login Information link at top right to enter your XpertOnline login credentials.

From here, enter your XpertOnline credentials: Provider ID, Subscriber ID, Username, and Password. Note: all four fields are required and must match your current XpertOnline login information for credit ordering. We recommend that you check the Save Password checkbox so that you don’t have to re-enter it each time you want to order credit.

Click Save to return to the Order Credit screen or Close to return to the previous screen. 


Users may test their login credentials by clicking the Refresh button adjacent to the Product dropdown option to access the SharperLending credit system and load the current product list.

If the login credentials are correct, the Product list dropdown will generate with a list of credit products that can are available to be ordered.

Product Selection

Click the Product field down arrow to view the entire selection of credit products available and choose the appropriate product you wish to order.

From the Order Credit screen, select the Request Type for the order. Available options are:

  • New Request – choose this to order a new credit report and select the appropriate Product.
  • Retrieve an existing credit report – choose this if you know the credit report Reference Number in the credit system and want to import it (along with assets and liabilities). From the Request Type dropdown, enter the corresponding Reference Number, and click Submit.
  • Upgrade – choose this option if you want to order a different product on the same credit report. NOTE: this feature is only available after the first credit report has been placed. When utilizing this option, the Upgrade feature will re-use existing bureau data (if possible) and only order new bureau data that does not exist on the current report.
    1. For example, choose Upgrade if you have ordered a single bureau product and want to order a Tri-Merge. This option merges the new data with the pre-existing data if the criteria is met.   
    2. Use Upgrade if you want to go from a soft pull to a hard pull. When upgrading from a soft to a hard pull, all new credit data will be pulled for the hard pull.
    3. Choose a new Product to order and click Submit.

Regardless of the Request Type option selected, click Submit to place your order.


Viewing the Credit Report

When the request is sent, Encompass will attempt to pull credit on the borrower(s) and send the credit report, score, assets, and liabilities back into the system. If the order is successful, you will be taken to the Order Status tab screen where you can view the credit report.

From here, users can move between the Order Information tab and the Order Status tab. Additionally, users can view the credit report and the product ordered via the eFolder. Any subsequent orders places be shown in the eFolder.

To view Scores, located at the bottom left, click on the Forms tab, then select the Fact Act Disclosure entry. NOTE: users may need to check the Show in Alpha Order and the Show All boxes at bottom to view this data.

To view Liabilities, located at the bottom left, click on the Forms tab, then click on the VOL entry. NOTE: users may need to check the Show in Alpha Order and the Show All boxes at bottom to view this data.
