The SSN Mismatch Service allows Providers to set up and receive notifications when a file encounters an SSN mismatch on an applicant. Note: When an SSN Mismatch Notification is triggered, the file is placed in a Please Review status and withheld from the client. The Provider must verify the mismatch. If the SSN Mismatch is verified and the file is ready for the client, you can mark the file as Done to release the report to your client. This guide explains how the SSN Mismatch workflow functions.

Enable the SSN Mismatch Service

From Provider Settings, select the Provider Setup tab. 

Choose the Provider Setup tab. 

The SSN Mismatch Service is located under the Enable Deceased Indicator Service and Notifications setting. To turn on the service, enable the box adjacent to Enable SSN Mismatch Service. NOTE: Once this setting is enabled, the service will run for all clients under the Provider, by default. 

For users to be notified of an SSN Mismatch alert, enter any/all email addresses that should receive notifications. NOTE: for multiple email addresses, separate via comma (,).

To complete the setup, select the SAVE button. The CANCEL button will return the user to the previous page view. 


Receiving an SSN Mismatch Notification

When the SSN Mismatch is triggered on a file, those individuals set up to receive the notifications will receive an email alerting them that a file has encountered a potential applicant's SSN mismatch. Below is an example of what users may receive. 


Processing an SSN Mismatch File

Once it has been determined the applicant's SSN has been confirmed, access the file in XOLX, and select the Supplements tab. Any automated services that are configured to run on the ordered product will be listed here.

Under the Description column, note the Check SSN Mismatch line item. 


Expand the arrow to the right to review the contents. Use the Status dropdown menu to make the appropriate selection. 

Choosing Done will prompt an overlay to Confirm the action and ensure the report is delivered to the client. Select Yes to confirm the activity or No to return to the previous screen. 

Complete the Billing Description overlay as needed.
